Karen Harper

Hi, my name is Karen Harper. I have been a volunteer with Dignity House since 2016 as a member of the Dignity House Board of Directors. I now have the honor and privilege as the Chair on the Board of Directors.

I am passionate about Dignity House because step by step one life at a time, I’ve witnessed change taking place in the lives of the women who call Dignity House home; it is such a blessing. We want them to feel this is their home, a place to acquire support needed to be successful in seeking a life of recovery and; experience and maintain a sober lifestyle towards independency. It can be a roller coaster ride at times but by demonstrating acceptance, compassion, understanding and love you begin to see the women heal from trauma, abuse; and addictions. Women gain life skills by volunteering, education and employment. When they are ready and have reached their independency, they move forward to find a place they can call home.

This is why I continue to volunteer, seeing lives being changed by God. I am honored and count it a privilege to be part of the blessing of change and to witness the growth women have made in setting goals and reaching them.

Treasurer: Darlene Goertzen

Darlene Goertzen has been a CPA, CA for over 15 years. She brings to the board experience from several finance leadership roles with both public and private companies. Darlene is passionate about volunteering with several charities and is honored to be part of an organization that helps women find healing, growth and independence.

Anny Tielman

Greetings! My name is Anny Tielman. I’m retired from a 25 year career in education and I have been a board member for Dignity House since 2014.

I consider it a great honour to be part of an organization that impacts women from Winnipeg, and surrounding communities of Manitoba. Women, who find themselves homeless from a life of trauma, abuse, addiction, and/or trafficked. The love and support they find at Dignity House encourages them to flourish and grow, allowing them to make good decisions for their future. Many are reunited with their children. God continues to bless the work; the full time staff, and the board as we seek direction in making decisions for the women and the ministry.

I thank God that I can have a small role in the great work Dignity House does.

Sherri Dyck

Sherri Dyck Sherri Dyck brings to the board her background as a dually licensed registered psychiatric nurse and licensed practical nurse, and a focus on the mental health and well-being of the women we serve. Grounded in her Christian faith, she is passionate about spiritual and emotional healing, and has a particular interest in survivors of trauma. Sherri is currently pursuing her Masters of Psychiatric Nursing while teaching in the Psychiatric Nursing Program at Brandon University. When not working or studying, she enjoys photography, reading, embroidery, being outside, spending time with friends, and volunteering in various capacities.

Janalyn Oige

Janalyn Janalyn brings to the board 14 years experience with Adult & Teen Challenge, most recently as the Executive Director and ex-officio board member of Adult & Teen Challenge in British Columbia for 6 years. Janalyn has a passion for the hurting and broken, excited to see them put their faith in Jesus and live completely free to follow Him. Janalyn currently serves part-time as the Executive Assistant to the CEO of Adult & Teen Challenge Society of British Columbia and she also works part-time as the Next Generation Coordinator at Bethel Church in Selkirk. When introduced to Dignity House, Janalyn jumped at the chance to serve on the board. When not working, Janalyn enjoys walking her two dogs, Blue & Roxy. She also enjoys swimming and visiting with her family.
